Children in year 4 visited Binchester Roman Fort to experience Roman times for themselves this week. Children explored the impressive remains of a Roman bath house and they walked in the footsteps of soldiers around the remains of the Commander’s House. The class became archaeologists and excavated earth to find Roman artifacts, had a chance to dress as Roman soldiers and designed mosaics to recreate the floor of a Roman villa. As you can see the children had a wonderful time. The class will use this experience to help them write a story set in Roman times.
