It’s hard to believe that 15 school weeks have passed since we returned in September and once again it’s been another busy term at Willington Primary! This week our Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children have put on four great performances which really got everyone into the festive spirit. It never ceases to amaze me what our fabulous young people and talented staff are able to achieve in such a short space of time! ‘Stay and Play’ sessions throughout the term and ‘Christmas Craft’ sessions this week welcomed Reception and Nursery parents into school to get creative and play with their children. These sessions are always well attended and the level of parental support is evident in the progress being made by the children. Last week’s Christmas Fair together with the raffles from the shows raised a fantastic £1,139 to go into school funds. This will be used to ensure our children have the best learning resources available and that exciting extras like ‘Professor Brainstorm’s Science Shows’ and a range of trips to enhance learning can continue to take place. A big thank you to Mrs Brunskill and Mrs Liddell for all the time and effort they put in to ensure the fair was a success and a thank you to Darren for organising the raffles for the shows. All the staff at Willington Primary School would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! We look forward to seeing you all in 2018 for another exciting year.
