Our Year 5 pupils were delighted to win the ‘Primary School Song Writing Competition.’ The competition started back in September with Miss Inglis, the music teacher from Parkside, working with our Year 5 class over four afternoon sessions. The brief for the children was to write a song to celebrate both our school and Willington itself. The children came up with the lyrics and Miss Inglis put them to music. Pupils from Parkside band put together the backing track and the class performed their song at Parkside Academy on Monday with Greater Willington Town Councillors as judges. Our pupils beat off stiff competition from Sunnybrow and St. Stephen’s to claim first place. We are all extremely proud of their achievement.
