Year 5 had lots of fun learning how some mountains are formed using cream (dyed orange to represent the mantel) and crackers (to represent tectonic plates). The children explored what happens when; they pressed and pulled the plates apart, when one was slid on top of another and, after wetting the edges, what happened when they were squashed together.
