Goodbye and Good Luck Year 6

Once again I find it hard to believe that this is the last week of the school year and the final week in Willington Primary for Year 6!

A younger year 6!

A younger year 6!

With the changes to the curriculum and the much harder tests, this academic year has certainly been  challenging for both staff and pupils.  However, our Year 6 children certainly rose to the occasion and the progress they have all made has been remarkable.  Under the expert guidance of Miss Jones and Mrs Jacob,  Year 6 have become an extremely effective group of mature, responsible, self-confident and  hardworking young people who are a real credit to our school.  Throughout this year they have set an excellent example for the rest of the children, showing real pride in their school and in their learning.  They have exceeded my expectations with their attainment and shown that they have the skills and qualities to be very successful as they move to secondary school.

The children have now outgrown primary school and are ready for the exciting opportunities that secondary school can provide.   As they leave, the greatest gift the children can give us is to make sure they get off to a good start in September, working hard and having the confidence to get involved in the many exciting activities that Parkside will offer.   On behalf of all the staff and  children at Willington Primary I would like to wish our Year 6 children every success for the future.
