Pupils in year 6 had the opportunity to hold a piece of history in their hands when Durham Light Infantry volunteers visited them for the day. The children had a unique opportunity to explore artifacts and hold genuine objects once used by DLI soldiers and their families. The class used drama to recreate life in WWII. The children had a wonderful day and the DLI volunteers (two of them retired soldiers) were thrilled at the level of knowledge and the standard of questions that came from the children.
