Schools in Willington and Crook hosted visiting headteachers from Tanzania and Zimbabwe. The visitors observed our children in maths and English lessons and our pupils had the opportunity to ask questions about life in Tanzania. Staff from each school took part in training with the visitors relating to global learning and issues affecting all of us such as climate change. Each school in Willington and Crook now has a link school in Tanzania or Zimbabwe. Over the next two years we will be completing joint project work which will enable our pupils to gain a better understanding of the world through the eyes of the pupils in our Tanzanian link school – Kibosho Primary, Kilimanjaro. This is a wonderful opportunity to help prepare our children for life in a global society and we are looking forward to developing these links to their full potential.
