As a school we are conscious that many working parents would experience childcare issues if the whole school were to close. A full risk assessment has been carried out with the Local Authority and the school, to see if it was feasible to keep the school open, causing the minimal disruption to parents/carers and their children.
As a result of this, it was decided that the school could stay open for children in years 1 to 6 and close to children in nursery and reception only if certain security measures were put in place. The public will enter via the car park entrance through the nursery garden into the nursery where the Polling Station will be located. The general public will have NO access to the main school building, and all staff have been made aware of these arrangements. Staff have been asked to be extra vigilant on the day as a matter of course. At dropping off and collection time we ask that you escort your child to and from the playground.
I would like to reassure you that the safety and wellbeing of your children has always, and will always be of paramount importance to us and all arrangements have been made with this at the forefront.
