The Oriental Museum delivered an interactive Chinese New Year workshop to reception class and year 3. The children were told the story of Nian and how he was defeated (a scary monster who attacked villages long ago) and why years are known as animal names by dressing up in character. They finished with a spot of dragon dancing.
