Our Year 5 class have been taking part in Northern Heartlands’ Hidden Heritage of Willington Project ‘Time Detectives’. It has provided opportunities for our pupils to jump feet first into our local history with the aim that children will feel more connected to their locality.
On Saturday 15th July EEA are bringing their famous giant mechanical turtle to Willington to lead the parade for Hyem Fest!
It will take you on a parade through time, where you will experience Willington’s past present and future led by their friendly time travelling giant.
The parade begins at 2pm from Park Street and will be finishing from Willington Town Green where the the opening festival will begin, followed by live music and entertainment, creative activities and more.
On the build up to the parade there will be a host of free family workshops for everyone to participate in led, by Anna Harding commencing on:
